Volvo Cars sales in November climbed 59 per cent versus the same month last year, setting the stage for a record breaking sales year in Australia.

Monthly car sales data via VFACTS reports 883 Volvos sold versus 554 in November 2021. Of those, 243 were the all-electric C40 Recharge, with EVs making up more than a quarter (27.5 per cent) of Volvo Cars’ Australian sales for the month.

The strong result keeps Volvo Cars Australia on track to break 10,000 annual car sales in December, which will make 2022 a record-breaking year.

Globally Volvo car sales were up 12 per cent for November

The early uptake of electric vehicles, with the C40 Recharge only in its second full month of sales, underlines that Volvo Cars Australia’s ambitious commitment to sell only electric vehicles by 2026 is achievable. The November result puts Volvo just ahead of sister company Polestar, which sold 240 electric vehicles.

Globally Volvo car sales were up 12 per cent for November, with all-electric vehicles now making up almost a fifth (19.7 per cent) of overall sales.

The company’s executive team has committed to launching a new all-electric model every year to enable its climate goals.
