Sound settings

You can adjust the sound settings via the centre display.

In sound settings, you can customise the sound to suit your needs. Access the volume controls, adjust the tonal balance or select a focus setting to adjust how media sounds throughout the passenger compartment. You can also turn the sound on or off for different seats and select a room setting to adjust the acoustics of the car.

Focus

The focus settings adjust the volume in different areas of the car so that you can customise the sound experience. The available sound focus settings are:
AllThe default focus setting. The volume is slightly higher in the front seats, but occupants in the front and rear get a similar sound experience.
DriverThe sound from all speakers is focused towards the driver. This can be useful when driving alone.
CentreAll occupants are provided with an even sound experience, and the volume is balanced between the front and rear seats.
FrontThe speakers in the back of the car are turned off, and all sound is focused towards the front seats.
RearThe speakers in the front of the car are turned off, and all sound is focused towards the rear seats.

Individual Seats

You can change the volume level and turn sound on or off for individual seats in the car. At least one seat must be turned on to use this setting. The driver seat and medium sound level are selected by default.

Room

The room setting adjusts the acoustics of your car to change how media sounds. Each setting provides a distinct spatial audio experience.
Living roomListen to media with the acoustics of a small listening room.
Downtown clubExperience listening to media with the acoustics of a downtown jazz club.
Gothenburg concert hallListen to media with the acoustics of a concert hall.
3D SurroundTurn on surround sound in your car. When selected, you can increase and decrease intensity and envelopment.

Note

Room settings are unavailable when playing media with Dolby Atmos, and the sound setting will automatically switch to the All focus mode. When Dolby Atmos is no longer playing, the sound setting will automatically switch back to the room setting you were previously using.

Tone

If you want to customise how your media sounds, you can adjust the different tonal qualities to your preferences. You can restore the default values at any time by pressing Reset.

Equaliser

Customise the sound frequencies to your preferences by turning on and adjusting the equaliser. You can restore your adjustments to the default settings by pressing Reset.

Volume

You can adjust the volume of a variety of sounds via the centre display, such as:
  • Media
  • Ringtone
  • Calls
  • Voice assistant
  • Navigation
  • Notifications
  • Park assistance

Tip

There are other ways to adjust the sound volumes in your car. You can use the media controls below the centre display, the controls on the right side of the steering wheel or use voice control.
