Fuses

Your car has e-fuses that protect different parts of the car's electrical system by cutting the power if the current exceeds the fuse's threshold.

Your car does not have traditional melting fuses, instead it has software-controlled e-fuses. These work in the same way as traditional fuses and will cut the power to protect your car from damage. When a high current or voltage flows to an e-fuse, the fuse opens and some functions may be limited. After a brief cool-down period, the e-fuse will close automatically and all functions should work as normal.

Important

If the car's electrical functions are not restored, it could be an indication of an electrical fault and you should contact a workshop.

Volvo recommends an authorised Volvo workshop for any required repairs or servicing regarding the car's electrical system or components.
