Volvo Cars app
The Volvo Cars app gives you effortless control of your EX90 before you even get in.

Remote functions may not be available when the vehicle has been parked for an extended period.
The start of a new era, powered by Safe Space Technology.
The EX90 can help you detect vulnerable road users, even in complete darkness. Mounted on the roof, lidar works together with cameras and radars to detect other road users up to 250 metres ahead.
Your car can detect and alert you of potential collisions so you can safely avoid them. If you don't respond, it can pre-charge the brakes to boost their performance once you react or help you steer away from the hazard.
Your car can help you avoid veering off your path by monitoring lane markings and the road’s edge. If you change lanes without indicating or drift off the road, it can issue alerts and gentle steering corrections.
Cutting-edge exterior sensing capabilities
Enhance your feeling of safety with lidar that uses pulsed laser technology. It works together with cameras, radars and ultrasonic sensors to give a detailed image of what's going on around you.
Future technology and features are described and capabilities may vary. Features may not be available in all markets and will not be standard in all markets or for all models. Lidar equipped on early production vehicles will begin in data collection mode and over time the technological capabilities of the lidar will expand to include additional sensing scenarios as part of our Safe Space Technology, including the ability to detect objects in darkness at highway speeds up to 250 metres.
A new era for safety and driver support

Driver understanding
Inside your EX90, sensors and a touch-sensitive steering wheel pay attention to your eye and head movements as well as driving style. If, for some reason, your attention is no longer focused on driving, it can step in to help keep you safe. It does this on a few different levels depending on the context. If, for example, sensors detect that you might be drowsy, the car can display a message suggesting you take a break. The warning signals grow in volume with the severity of the situation. If you do not respond, it can safely bring the car to a stop in the lane and activate the hazard lights. It can also take this information on board when detecting potential collisions on the road and intervene at an earlier stage.

Occupant sensing
Get reminded of who is in the car to help prevent passengers from inadvertently being left behind. With radar sensors strategically placed throughout the cabin, our new occupant sensing system can detect sub-millimetre movement inside the car. If your EX90 senses that a person or animal is still in the car when you try to lock the doors, it can remain unlocked and send you a notification to remind you to check the interior. The car's climate system can remain on if people or animals are detected in the cabin to improve comfort and help lower the risk of hypothermia or heatstroke.
Door opening alert
Avoid unforeseen accidents when opening the doors of your parked car. The radars on the rear of your Volvo can detect approaching cyclists and motorists from behind and alert anyone in the car who might be about to open their door. Your car can send you alerts in two stages. Initially, a warning light on the corresponding door mirror can illuminate. If a collision is imminent, the light can begin flashing with a warning sound.
360° camera
Get in and out of tight spots using the 3D birds-eye view on your centre display. Four cameras at the car's front, rear, left and right sides create an intuitive view of your surroundings. Call up the split-screen option to add a near-180° front or rear view for even greater visibility. If you are jumping into a reverse park, the rear-view camera can show you guiding lines to help ease you into place. Pinch to zoom so you can get a better view. This is particularly useful if you are reversing to attach a trailer.
High definition pixel headlights
Increase your comfort and reduce eye strain on other road users when driving at night. Advanced high-definition pixel headlight technology in the Volvo EX90 contain 1.3 million pixels that can alter the shape and intensity of light they omit. Together with your car’s front cameras, this technology can detect up to five cars and three other objects and automatically adjust the light directed at them for optimum visibility. This helps reduce glare and avoid dazzling other drivers on the road.
Relax into your drive by activating Pilot Assist. It adapts your speed and provides gentle steer assistance to help you stay centred in your lane and maintain a safe distance from the car in front.
Stress less about changing lanes using Lane Change Assist. Tap your indicator, and your car can find a safe gap in traffic to help you steer into the other lane.
New generation Pilot Assist
Pilot Assist supports relaxed, yet focused driving by providing gentle steering, braking and acceleration adjustments, while you keep your hands on the wheel.
Driver support functions are not a substitute for the driver's attention and judgment. Brake intervention is only active at lower speeds. Driver remains responsible for safe driving at all times.
Store your smartphone within arm's reach in the centre console on a dedicated charging pad. The shape of the pad is designed to hold your phone steadily in place.
Charge your phone wherever you're sitting in the car with two USB-C ports in each row of the cabin.
Always be prepared for outdoor adventures with a 12V power outlet in the car boot. Power your cooler, generator, mattress pump or portable devices.
Cabin-wide connection

Relax and recharge

Range optimisation
Get an overview of your energy consumption and ways to improve your car’s range in the centre display's Range Assistant. Have enough power to get to your destination? The Range Assistant can give you an estimated range that adjusts to factors like driving style, road conditions and onboard energy use in real time. It can also provide a minimum and maximum range estimate based on your current battery level. Activate the Range Optimiser function within the app, and your car can adjust the climate, driving mode and battery pre-conditioning settings to maximise how far you get on a single charge.

Battery pre-conditioning
Select a charging point, and your Volvo can begin pre-conditioning the battery by heating or cooling it to the optimal temperature for rapid charging. This process is automatic, so you don't need to give it a second thought.

Plug & Charge
Plug & Charge makes charging your electric Volvo at public stations simple. Just plug in and charge—no apps, cards, or tags needed. The station automatically recognizes your car and starts charging, with the process displayed on your car’s center screen. Billing is automatic for added convenience. To use Plug & Charge, activate the function and link your car to a compatible charging account. Easily locate Plug & Charge stations via Google Maps on your car’s display or the Volvo Cars app.
Plug and Charge requires compatible infrastructure which is not currently available in all markets.
Your EX90 is hardware-ready to power your home and support during power outages in some cases. This technology has the potential to let you support a more balanced energy grid, for example, by taking in more energy when there´s a surplus of renewable energy or selling power back during peak usage hours when there is more demand.
Bi-directional charging
Initially rolling out in select markets, bi-directional charging has the potential to help power your house, your appliances or even return power to the energy grid.
Onboard, two powerful core computers control all functions of your Volvo, rather than hundreds of small vehicle computers. This provides you with a lightweight yet robust and smoothly operating digital in-car network prepared for future upgrades like autonomous drive.
Having a software-driven car means you can continually improve your car's performance, connectivity and safety through easy software updates, just as you would with your smartphone or laptop.
Regular software updates improve the operating system and add new features to your car. All you need to do is accept the notification via the centre display so it can begin upgrading once your car is empty and locked.
Born smart, engineered to get even smarter
The EX90 is part of a new generation of software-defined cars that offer new in-car experiences and a richer, more connected life on the move.
