Using your own insurance provider
Free Driveaway Insurance is included for the first 7 days when you purchase a Volvo, as long as you meet the eligibility criteria. When signing up for Driveaway Insurance you will also be presented with a quote for the Volvo Car Insurance subscription policy. If you choose not to take out 7 day Free Driveaway Insurance, or Volvo Car Insurance, you can arrange your insurance with an alternative provider.
Using your own insurance provider for a financed car
If you want to arrange your own insurance policy for a car financed with one of the Volvo finance options, your policy needs to meet certain requirements and conditions.
Insurance requirements
Your insurance policy must cover the following:
- Accidental damages, including damage from accidents, vandalism, and malicious damage to the car and its standard accessories.
- Windscreen and window damage, including the glass sunroof if applicable.
- Fire and theft damages.
- Third Party Liability insurance.
- Misfuelling cover when relevant.
- Include a courtesy car provision.
Insurance conditions
- You must be the main policy holder.
- The policy must begin on or before your car’s delivery date.
- If you take out the 7-day Driveaway Insurance, you must have insurance cover in place for when this finishes.
- Your insurance provider must be FCA approved in the UK.
- Foreign comprehensive cover is required if you plan to drive abroad.
You can find more information about insurance requirements and conditions in your finance contract.
