For most cars, you’re able to install it in your car or with the Volvo Cars app. The update is mandatory, but you can schedule it at a time that’s convenient for you, within a certain time period.

When will the update be available?

It's coming soon. Once the update is available, you’ll get a notification in the car and in the Volvo Cars app.

I already have Volvo Car UX in my 2025.5 XC90, what changes for me?

With this update, the look of the driver display in the 2025.5 XC90 & XC90 plug-in hybrid will be upgraded to the new design. The center display will also receive a few minor visual updates, and you’ll get access to Android Auto.

I drive a 2026 Volvo, will there be any changes for me?

No, all of the interface updates are already included in model year 2026 Volvo vehicles.

Which cars will get the Volvo Car UX update?

The update applies to most Google built-in models.

-XC40 Recharge / C40 Recharge / EX40 / EC40 (MY21–25)
-V90 / V90 CC / S90 / XC60 (MY22–25)
-XC90 (MY23-25)
-V60 / V60 CC / S60 (MY23–25)
-XC40 (MY23–25)

MY25.5 XC90 already includes Volvo Car UX, but will still receive a driver display (DIM) update and Android Auto through an over-the-air update. Models using Sensus are not eligible for this upgrade. 

Features depicted may not be standard or available for all markets, equipment levels and powertrain options. Google services are enabled through a digital services package that is included for four years. After this period, new terms and fees will apply if you choose to renew.
