Procedure to adjust aim of headlights

You can adjust the aim of your vehicle's front headlights via the center display.

Advanced headlight adjustment can be used to calibrate the aim of the passing beam. It is not intended for regular use. Volvo recommends that advanced headlight adjustment is only used by service technicians for the purpose of aiming the vehicle's headlights.

Note

Auto-leveling

Advanced headlight adjustment is not the same as auto-leveling. Auto-leveling automatically adjusts the vertical alignment of the passing beam.

Important

Only adjust the aim of your headlights when necessary and make sure you have read all the information before making any changes. Before adjusting the headlights, make sure that:
  • you are familiar with using reference points for headlight adjustment
  • the vehicle is stationary and on a flat, level surface.
  1. Press the vehicle symbol in the bottom bar and go to Controls.
  2. Go to MoreAdvanced headlight adjustment.
The advanced headlight adjustment view opens.
  3. Select the headlight you want to adjust by pressing Left headlight or Right headlight.
    The selected headlight turns on.
  4. Follow the instructions in the center display to adjust the headlight either vertically or horizontally.
  5. Confirm your changes by pressing Save.

After you have adjusted the aim of your headlights, you can restore them to their last saved settings by pressing Restore or reset them to their factory settings by pressing Factory reset.

Note

The headlights stay in their new positions when you start a new drive cycle.

Tip

You can also view the current VHAD[1] values of each headlight by pressing See VHAD values in the advanced headlight adjustment view.
